Grants For Single Mothers
Anybody who wants to get a good paying job must have a degree, and now grants for single mothers are available to help them in getting a college degree. It is impossible to live comfortably if a single mother has to depend solely on the salary from her job as a general worker. Moreover, even if there are good paying blue collar jobs, most of them are taken by foreign workers.
It is still a fact that being in college needs a single mother to be strong enough, because she has to balance between her studies and her children. And if she is working part time, it is another factor that has to be taken into consideration. A person only has 24 hours a day, and if she has to juggle three main responsibilities in a day, it would indeed be very tiring. Most single mothers are not able to cope without the help from any grants.
Due to the obvious hardship experienced by single mothers who have strong determination in improving their status in life, the government together with many other organizations are willing to help by providing grants for single mothers. They know that not many single mothers can cope with studying, child care and work at the same time – generally nobody can actually cope with a difficult situation like this.
That is why the Pell Grants are created because the government really wants to see that the well being of single mothers and their children are taken care of. Pell Grants are very generous in offering the amount of funds – each mother can actually receive up to five thousand dollars in a year to support herself and her children during the time she is in college.
So far, Pell Grants are one of the most generous sponsors because there are other sponsors who give away around $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 to each person. This is obviously not enough to support the tuition fees and to cover daily expenses as well as child care centers and other miscellaneous needs.
However, a single mother can find other types of grants for single mothers that give away more than that, apart from Pell Grants. A single mother can apply grants from large companies because naturally they have allocated certain amounts of money for this purpose, and if the mother is lucky she will be sponsored throughout the entire course, plus expenses for her daily needs and her children as well.
